It's almost February, but we are still having flashbacks from a fantastic holiday season. Here are highlights from some 2011 Christmas and Holiday events. Think of it as inspiration for next year!

This tent held one of our bars, coffee and hot chocolate station, and an amazing 18foot dessert station!

We never forget about our kids during the Holiday season. Here are some images of an elaborate kid's holiday buffet, serving among other things, healthy treats like salad dippers and fresh fruit.

Hello All,

I just wanted to THANK YOU once again for A JOB WELL DONE, with my sister's wedding reception! Dee and Aaron, along with myself, were blown away by all of your contributions to the event. Everything really came together. NOTHING WENT WRONG & WE HAD NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. We are very grateful and appreciative for all the hard work, cooperation and patience shown to us. Family members and friends are still talking about it lol; therefore, we're convinced that memories were definitely made that night. It was a lot of fun and we could not have experienced that without the assistance from each of you.

Autumn Harvest Event: Designed in Pumpkin Orange and White

It’s fall and last week we helped Lincoln Property Company celebrate the change in seasons with their brokers. The brokers were invited to view the 4^th floor of their 55 Ivan Allen Plaza space, a beautiful high rise office building. Because the space is a un-built-out floor, we needed to transform the concrete drabness with lantern lighting and bright pumpkin orange linens. We used a large central buffet to draw the guests into the space and kept them there with seating near the buffets.

We celebrated with a hearty central lunch buffet, beverage service, and pick-up dessert treats.

Guests were invited to enjoy a beverage bar serving sodas and fresh apple cider garnished with fresh apples and cinnamon sticks.

We used real hand-carved hollowed pumpkins as the ice buckets and kept the pumpkin tops for décor!

The Dessert Buffet was set-up on a 6ft table, two leaning shelves, and two stacked shelves. We served fall themed pick-up sweets like our apple tartans and pumpkin flavored cheesecake bites.

We served items that could be plattered mostly from our shop in order to minimize the amount of prep we needed to do in the raw space. We brought 2 of our mini ovens in order to do some light heating.

A few posts ago we featured some pictures from a gorgeous event we produced at Saks. We showed you the delicious dinner buffet, seating, and bars, but we saved the best for last… DESSERT! Dale, the woman celebrating her birthday, enjoyed a “Dales Candy Display” dessert, like the cool NYC treat shop with the same name.

We utilized glass cylinders and squares to create a modern and vibrant display!

We also offered a fabulous cake walk, wherein guests tasted stunning cakes in every flavor and color.

Glitz, Glamour, and Glass: Gorgeous Birthday Party at Saks Fifth Ave!

We are in love with the chic look of clear glass and all mirrored surfaces. And when you put that in a space that says cool and couture like Saks Fifth Avenue, how can you go wrong?! This event was for a client that wanted to celebrate her birthday in a place she and her girlfriends enjoy and a place that represented her sense of style and taste; Saks.

We set-up a gorgeous healthy ‘ladies-friendly’ lunch buffet among the racks, along the store’s stunning mirrored counter tops. We utilized our own mirrored platters and clear glass containers to mimic the clean design of the store’s show room.

We pride ourselves on our fresh seasonal fare, so are chefs and sales team make every effort to keep up with the latest in seasonal availability. Today, we had a presentation and tasting from one of our fish purveyors In land: Sea Food. This informative session, gave us an understanding of what is available at every price point, and excellent options for every occasion.

Richard, our sales rep, explained where each selection comes from, their different flavors and textures, and when to recommend items.

We previewed the fishes raw and cooked to view how they change in color, texture, and size.

We gathered plenty of information to bring back with us.

Sandra says, "The greatest part of the convention is meeting and networking with so many talented culinary professionals!"

You can imagine how excited we were to produce a first birthday where Mommy, the hostess, simply told us to let our creativity run wild as long as it was, “pink, innocent, and sweet.”

We needed to consider our baby guests needs first and foremost; in order to be fun and functional,we used high chairs tied with a large pink bow as seating, set-up along a lovely pink linen table.

Each place was set with a darling custom baby’s boxed lunch.

Each box was filled with a delicious and nutritious cheese sandwich in a star shape, a jelly sandwich in a heart shape, a chocolate chip cookie, and a healthy carrot muffin. Each were individually wrapped and sealed with a custom sticker!

Detail: personalized mini- water bottles at each setting.

The ATC custom centerpieces running down the center of the table were simple plants with darling circles that have a lovely image of a one, a cupcake, and our darling little girl’s name.

The toddlers were invited to sit in sweet miniature furniture groupings, just like their mommies and daddies!

ATC produced a private cocktail reception at the home of Joel and Kimberly Babbit in support of the Soledad O' Brien and Brad Raymond Foundation. Soledad explains, "In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, we met some amazing girls whose college dreams were floating out of reach. With our help, some of those remarkable young women have been able to reclaim their dreams. And with your help, we can restore the dreams of others like them."

This gorgeous wedding was held at the Puritan Mill event center in Atlanta, Ga. Puritan mill is located in the dynamic King Plow arts district. Right in the heart of the action packed city of Atlanta. This venue is as unique as the bride and groom.

They decided to go the nontraditional route by eliminating the usual floral center pieces and went with an edible, outdoorsy vibe. Because the bride and groom did not want floral waste we utilized edible herbs and spreads to decorate each table.

We served the first course salads Family Style to help the guests feel closer and connected.

The guests enjoyed a menu that consisted of light colorful foods that went along with the summer fresh and fun tone!

Toasted crostini topped with tomato and onion bruschetta. Nothing like a little sprinkle of sweet basil to brighten the plate! Who could resist this summer appetizer?

A yummy summer pasta dish consisted of ravioli with a light cream sauce of freshly sautéed mushrooms and spinach and tomatoes.

The dessert display was almost too gorgeous to eat. The guests enjoyed admiring and taking photos of these decedent desserts almost as much as they enjoyed eating them!

This amazing concoction consisted of mini chocolate mouse and strawberry short cake shots, decorated white chocolate dipped cheesecake pops, double chocolate brownies, and lemon bars and fresh assorted summer fruit.

Small Plate Stations Make-up a Hearty and Healthy Buffet

Sometimes it is more fun to have a few tastes then a single large buffet. This woman’s birthday party took place in a stunning pent house in the 1010 Midtown building; we wanted our food selections to be as chic and airy as the building itself.

Different textures in the furniture helped to highlight the amazing windows in this penthouse!

Guests were invited to enjoy the hostess’s favorite cocktails at a “GIN ‘n JUICE” BAR; there they were served “The Double D” – Chilled White Wine and “The Down ‘n Dirty” Gin Martini.

Crazy For Carly's Concoctions!

For this Bat Mitzvah we wanted our food and set-up to create the same sense of crazy fun energy the Bat Mitzvah girl exudes. The fair needed to be kid and adult friendly and maintain the funky fresh feeling of the entire event. Hosted at the newly renovated Buckhead Theater and in conjunction with Event Design Group, we wanted to utilize the theater’s old world meets new world feel.

The kid’s buffets and beverages were right next to the dance floor, so the kid’s did not have to stop dancing all night!

The adults started the evening with a fabulous sushi station and gourmet “comfort food” appetizers.

This gorgeous goddess of greenery was designed for a fabulous woman’s birthday. The vegetables were strung along this mannequin to be beautiful and functional. Since crudités is everyone’s favorite health conscience hors de oeuvre, we are always trying to re-invent the wheel, so to speak.. The challenge was to cover the stand in vegetables, but do so without using adhesive so everything was edible. We solved this problem by hanging cups from our goddess for easy grabbing. As they say, you are what you eat!

This station was designed especially for our health conscience clients, who love a tasty treat that won’t tip the scales. We lined the counter top with different lettuces as decor. We set-up the hearty organic toppings in neat rows on clear acrylic trays, so they appeared to be floating on a garden fresh bed of lettuce.

For the fifth year in a row, we provided the nourishments for the Epstein School’s Annual Fundraiser.

Everything was glitz and shiny glam, decorated in clear glass with crystal accents we wanted the room to sparkle so our food could shine. To create this glamorous but unique look, we used ghost chairs as risers on our stations!

On Saturday night we celebrated Valentines Day a little early at the Botanical Gardens. Over 1,300 Guests were invited to, “Enjoy an evening of cocktails and dancing, scrumptious desserts and live entertainment at the most romantic spot in Atlanta. Warm candlelight and fragrant orchids form the perfect setting for both couples and singles alike.” We enjoyed desserts from different caterers and saw the stunning, Orchid Daze: Liquid Landscapes, the special exhibition featuring thousands of orchids set against the backdrop of flowing water features.

Added Touch served Meringue Pavlovas with homemade whipped cream and fresh berries as Garden patrons entered the building. We used clean white pearl linens, glass and white pie stands, and red accents to create this lovely display. To highlight our desserts and create a romantic atmosphere we used only red candles and votives.

ATC was featured twice in this season's issue of the Atlanta Occasions Magazine! One article discussed a fun Sports themed Bnei Mitzvah and the other a Gorgeous Garden Party Birthday.

This week we celebrated the annual ATC Holiday party and decided to step-it up a notch, with a wine tasting for our staff and perfect buffet display. We were also wishing a fond farewell to our long time pastry chef and friend, Jandira, who is moving back to Brazil. We played games and asked questions phrased in a farcical way that asked the staff about proper set-up, clean-up, and client relations. We thought it was a fun way to keep the evening casual while giving important information.

Although bittersweet because of the good-byes, it was a wonderful way to kick off the holiday season!

Added Touch wanted our food to reflect the casual, but elegant ambience of this beautiful venue, Summerour. We used natural green hues and woods to mimic the natural wood of the venue. As an alternative to a garish center piece we used our food as décor, by setting up a bistro style wine and bread station in the center of each seating table. A wine bottle served as the table number holder, allowing every part of this table décor to have a function.

It’s well known that mussels are an aphrodisiac, but what better way to emphasize that then having a muscle man serving them! We had a roaming “Mussel” Man stand in the center of a round table and roll around the room, serving the guests.

Red Decadence- "Fallen in Love"

This engagement party was inspired by this couple’s “Falling in Love.” Because the party took place at the end of September, we wanted to play on the seasonal shift to fall as the leaves change from verdant green to sumptuous vermillion. The party was designed in chic clean white, black, and the color of love, red.

As the guests entered they were greeted by beautiful glowing red floral arrangements enhanced with red votive candles, and extenuated with a mix of circular and square mirrors.

We used a mix wooden folding chairs with red sashes, red chivari chairs, and clear acrylic ghost chairs (our latest favorite part furniture!) to accompany red, black, and patterned linen. This mixture made a vibrant shift in textures and color without overwhelming the eye.

This is an excellent way to save the client money by supplementing their already beautiful furniture with a few rental items.

Of course no Added Touch party is complete without an over the top five star dinner buffet and in this case we had two! We served a “They Flipped for Each Other” Chef Attended Burger Station complete with beef and turkey burger, various buns sauces, toppings, hot French fries, awesome onion rings, and blanched broccoli.

We also served a They Fell in Love at the Beach Destin Buffet with Blackened Amberjack and Lemon Butter Sauce, Whole Wheat Couscous and Mograbiah with Oven Dried Tomatoes and goat Cheese, And Romaine & Arugula Salad with Sliced Peaches Served with a Meyer Lemon Vinaigrette

We had two dessert carts with all red and white desserts. We served Sweet and Sticky Homemade Red Candy Apples, Awesome Red Velvet Cupcakes, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries, and passed Individual Raspberry Sorbets

Guests entered through a walkway of adorable blue ribbon; a simple way to show your guests where to enter and sit.

We hung gifts of baby's clothes and blue ribbon above the client's beautiful blue serving china.

Baby's clothing on a clothing line also helped to indicate where to locate additional seating and continue the festive energy throughout the rooms of the house.

Atlanta, August 04, 2010 – Award winning Added Touch Catering has promoted Chef Sarah McDaniel to the position of Executive Chef. As one of Atlanta’s premier high-end caterers, having won both an Allie Award (Atlanta Event Planning Award) and a CATIE (International Catering Award), Added Touch needed to find an executive chef with the creative vision of a five-star restaurateur and the know-how to create restaurants in unconventional venues.

Sarah McDaniel is an experienced culinarian. Though she’s only 25 years old, she has over eight years of professional experience. Added Touch is featured in the latest Summer/Fall 2010 issue of Atlanta Occasions Magazine. The article featured a Bat-Mitzvah Party we catered earlier this year. The entire event was designed in natural hues of orange and green “with a dash of Anthropology style thrown in.”

Here are a few things they had to say about us:

“…Guests chose from a wide range of unique orange libations, including international sodas, juices and smoothies. The stand out was an orange ‘mocktail’ served in mason jars featuring the peony logo.”

“The dessert table, created by Added Touch Catering, was a huge hit with children and adults alike and featured mini crème brulee, pumpkin and chocolate mousse, cheesecake pops, miniature peach pies, brownies, and more. ‘They loved the desserts,’ raved Weinstein. ‘It was a huge dessert display. They arranged all of it on wire cake stands with twigs and branches to appear in the center of trees.

Gorgeous Garden Party

The Event pictured is an elegant 30th birthday where the birthday girl was also celebrating her recent pregnancy. Drinking in these beautiful images, one can almost feel the lush damp of bare feet tromping through dewy grass, taste the chill sweetness of a glass of iced tea, and revel in the simple pleasures of languid Georgia summers. Each element of the party was designed with the pregnancy theme in mind. We had a “‘Build a Baby’ Burger Bar,” a “Barefoot and Pregnant Cocktail,” an elaborate “Trimester Taster, Pickle Bar” that served (among others) the perennial southern treat, fried pickles, and a “Satisfy Your Craving, Ice Cream and Cereal Bar.” This elegant, fun affair showcases our attention to detail, our love of Southern cooking, and our desire to lavishly fete our clients.

Summer Elegance at its Finest...

Last weekend we celebrated the beginning of summer! Nothing celebrates the changing of seasons like an elegant outdoor garden party. We used this aesthetic as inspiration for two very different events. Both parties utilized clean simple design with the natural beauty of the outdoors. We used clean white linens and elegant white floral arrangements. This aesthetic worked to celebrate the engagement of a lovely young couple and a fundraiser held by the brilliant Atlanta-based artist Radcliffe Bailey.

"Life of Bryan" an Epic 40th Birthday!

For this epic 40^th birthday party, we knew we had to do something that would exemplify the many faceted tastes of our client, while being as fun and exciting for our guests as it was for the client. This party was all about Bryan, so what better theme then “The Life of Bryan.” The inspiration for the theme came from the Monty Python film of the same name. Like Python’s quirky sense of humor, we collaged different elements of Bryan’s life, as well as fun kitsch decor, and a retro imagery.

We designed everything for this Party! The invitations(Pictured Above), which were fashioned like the “Life or Brian,” movie poster; they were actual poster size (11 x 17) and shipped in mailing tubes.

We designed the party with Bryan’s passions in mind. An avid sports fan, we designed a fun tailgate station with delicious lamb grilled on site and décor to match his favorite teams.

We also had a New Orleans Buffet, to celebrate his years at Tulane University, complete with two kinds of jambalaya and traditional Po’boy sandwiches. We also had an elegant black and white, pie shop complete with beignets and ice cream and a personalized birthday cake with his invitation printed in edible ink!

The party also had an exclusive shot bar that served Irish Car Bombs and a shot girl serving Patron shots off an illuminated tray.

Over all, we think everyone had a wonderful time and we were very proud of our “Added Touch.”

Elegant Wedding for Creative Couple

This wedding celebrated the union of a painter and writer. We needed the design to exemplify the unique tastes of these creatives, while maintaining the class of an elegant wedding. The linens were saturated purples, greens, and oranges inspired by the bride’s paintings. Even the Wedding cake was designed to mimic her paintings! Our food was chosen with this color scheme in mind. We satisfied the couple’s eclectic tastes by having many different stations, in a way; the guests were sampling the many facets of their personalities.

The Guests wrote their messages to the bride and groom on a type writer, all the guests' entries were then put into a scrapbook keepsake.

Quick and Easy Pasta Dinner in just a few minutes

We made this excellent Roasted pasta dish for a recent fundraiser. It was such a hit we thought we should share the recipe with you!

Ingredients

2 pints grape tomatoes

4 close of unpeeled garlic

4 small shallots cut into strips

2 tablespoons fresh thyme leaves

1.5 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil

8 ounces rigatoni pasta

½ cup of pitted olives coarsely chopped

4 cups of spinach

Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees. Toss Tomatoes, Clove Garlic, Shallots, Salt, Pepper, and Thyme in oil on a baking sheet. Roasted for 22 minutes, until browned

While the vegetables are roasting boil a pot of salted water and cook the pasta until al dente (roughly 6-8 minutes). Drain pasta and keep 1/3 cup of pasta water. Peel and mash the garlic.

Add garlic, the vegetables, and pasta water to the pot. Cook for 3 more minutes, while stirring and toss with spinach.

Serve warm.

The VIP Winter Wonderland Dessert presentation was created for a “Winter Wonderland” Bat Mitzvah. We wanted to create a beautiful forum to display some of our most loved desserts, while keeping with the theme of the evening. All of the desserts and surrounding décor used various shades of whites and blues to replicate the feelings associated with winter. We used white tulle to “rope off” the buffet station so the guests could view the beautiful display, while waiting for the dessert course to begin. This created both time for the guests to admire the buffet and increased their anticipation.

This dinner banquet honored a local philanthropist who has donated large sums of money to the Atlanta Food Bank. We wanted to honor the magnificent charitable efforts of this woman while drawing attention to her cause: in order to fulfill both of these mandates we decided to hold the party in the warehouse of the food bank itself, using canned goods as décor. We were in charge of all foodstuffs- hors d'oeuvres, buffets, and desserts; as well as the center pieces, linens, and coordinating the lighting, balloons, and furniture rentals.

Best Menu on A Budget

Our mission was to create an adorable birthday party without exceeding the client’s budget. Understandably, the client did not want to spend more than $1,000 dollars for their child’s first birthday. We accomplished this by designing an adult menu consisting of healthy yet affordable comfort foods and a very simple beverage bar. The children’s food was presented in inexpensive brown bags with monkey themed treats. We also hand created simple décor items like monkey masks and a “Happy Birthday” banner. We handled every facet of this event, the décor, the linens, the layout, the set-up, and the delicious nutritious meals.

Healthy Lunch or Dinner Recipe- Sushi Salad

We have had many requests for our recipe for the “Smoked Salmon and Avocado Sushi Salad.” This salad is light enough to be a side for a heavier meal, but substantial enough to be the main course for a smaller one. It makes an excellent healthy, protein packed lunch; its vibrant, complimenting, green, and pink hues, make for an elegant treat.

Recipe:

SUSHI SALAD

3 Cups Sushi Rice – Best if cooked the day before, cook according to instructions.

Carrots –Grated very finely

Cucumbers –Matchstick (Sliced into thin strips)

Tinned Corn Drained

Avocado – Sliced into Strips or Squares

Spring Onions – Chopped

1 Pack of Smoked Salmon – Cut into thin strips

Red Pepper -Sliced into thin strips

Edemame Beans

Pickled Ginger- Sliced

Dressing

Mix and Shake or Stir Well

1 cup mayonnaise

1/2 Cup Soy Sauce

2 Tsp Wasabi

6 tsp Sugar

2 Tbs Water

Make three cups of sushi rice at least a few hours before making the salad (best if it is made the day before) and leave it at room temperature. Mix all of the Ingredients (except the Avocado) together in a bowl and toss with the dressing. Lay the Avocado Slices around the salad and add more Pickled Ginger if desired. Serve and Enjoy!

Unique Bris or Baby’s Birthday Party!

The Jewish tradition of hosting a bris for a new baby boy is a wonderful custom, and we strive to provide the most adorable and unique spreads for each client. Rather then using conventional all blue boy’s décor, we used every Sesame Street fan’s favorite, Rubber Duckies.

The blue from the duckie’s aquarium emphasizes the blues in the linens and balloons and compliments the adorable yellow ducks.

While we used these duckies for a Bris, this party could work beautifully as a child's birthday party!

We designed this amazing dessert table for a young girl’s “60s Beatles” themed Bat Mitzvah. The concept for this table of treats was “Strawberry Fields Forever.” Each menu item was designed with this in mind. We used reds, pinks, whites, ribbon, and elegant signage to artfully convey this idea.

For an updated presentation on the traditional bread roll, we have started experimenting with different shapes. We loved this recipe idea (http://theitaliandish.blogspot.com/) so much we had to try it ourselves! The amazing thing about bread dough is how it can be manipulated into any form that you want. I think this is just the beginning of what we can do with dough!

The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival

Added Touch catered the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival closing gala this past Sunday. Following the showing of the festival's final film, Lefont Theater http://www.lefonttheaters.com/contact.html , invited this year's guests to enjoy three dessert buffets. Each buffet was stacked with towers of mini treats and covered in blue and green decor (the colors of the film fest).
